Manic Monday! Dalia project...

The last time I posted about embroidery, I mentioned how much fun it was to do the woven picot stitch. So much so, in fact, that I decided to make a dalia... full of way too many of these woven picot stitches to count! I think I've got it mastered now. I also realized that I am terrible at estimating how much embroidery floss I will need for a project! This is done in a 4" hoop. I traced concentric circles and formed each of the woven picots along those lines at equal intervals. I tried to stagger the stitches so they would overlap where the previous ones met, but this became increasingly difficult as I filled in the flower! I filled in the middle with a few french knots.
